Lead what matters. Do not carry every task alone.#

My e-teams are organised around outcomes and the capabilities needed to achieve them—not a fixed population of digital people. Existing working identities remain part of the responsibility and authority foundation.

I am defining what each role is there to contribute, which knowledge and tools it may use, who can approve its actions and how the result will be accepted. Capabilities become operational through that work, not through a name in a directory.

Leading my e-teams means giving the work a purpose—not handing away my judgement.

It is a way to organise several parts of a real need: understanding the question, preparing information, adapting an explanation, arranging a local action and checking the result. Where a person must inspect, negotiate, make or decide, a person remains responsible.

For a product entering a new market, a proposed combination could connect approved product information, language adaptation, review, audio production and service follow-up. Its outputs could become reusable resources. A reusable composite tool would still need an implemented interface, testing and permission to run. This describes a workflow to connect and verify, not an already operational end-to-end service.

I want to contribute the judgement that experience has given me, without becoming the person every small step must wait for.

Begin with your own purpose and boundaries. Use only the capabilities the task needs, verify the result and retain what can help the next combination. Team size is not the measure of success.

Automation can complete steps. The purpose is to extend people’s capability, choice and continuing contribution.

Why now: a new way to put experience to work.#

On 28 July 2026, the Model Context Protocol introduced a stateless protocol core. It gave me a new reason to act.¹

I saw the possibility of bringing independently provided tools, services and local expertise into shared work. A request could stand on its own; the information needed to continue a business task could be referenced explicitly rather than hidden inside one connection.²

For me, the opportunity is practical: work should not have to begin again whenever the person, tool, language or location changes.

The protocol does not create trust or deliver a product by itself. People still decide what they want, who may act, what must be checked and whether the result is useful.

Requests can be independent. Responsibility and evidence must continue.

We do not need to predict the whole future of AI to begin one useful piece of work today.

The pandemic showed me what connection alone cannot do.#

During the pandemic, my daughter continued her Hong Kong classes online from Shenzhen. We later moved to Hong Kong. Around us, other children and families were also rearranging schooling, accommodation and care.

Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Thailand and the United States became more than places on a business map. They were part of decisions about where we could live, how we could work and who could be present.

A screen could connect a classroom. It could not organise a family’s life. A video call could keep a discussion open. It could not receive a sample, inspect a machine or resolve every disagreement.

From March to 29 September 2021, I helped with technical and commercial coordination concerning machine-vision inspection equipment procurement between Apple and Samsun in Dongguan. My contacts included Christian Floyd, then a Global Supply Manager at Apple’s US headquarters.

Technology, funding and an established relationship were already present. The work still needed someone who could understand the equipment, American business communication, the supplier’s technical and commercial realities, and what each side needed before it could proceed.

Being connected is not the same as understanding one another. Being able to talk does not mean the work can continue.

I helped make the differences understandable and support a workable next step. Today, I am working to make more of that preparation and continuity shareable—so useful work need not always wait for one particular person.

Twenty-nine years—and the willingness to begin again.#

I was born in November 1966. In November 2026, I turn 60.

In 1997, I helped draft China’s national standard GB 16844—1997, “Self-ballasted lamps for general lighting services—Safety requirements.” In 2026, as an adviser to InnoSpire, I participated in smart-glasses work and Hong Kong’s AI+HK showcase at InnoEX.³⁴

I had not begun in the smart-glasses community. I needed to learn, understand unfamiliar needs and work with people whose expertise was different from mine.

Experience did not do that work for me. It helped me recognise what to ask, what to check and which promises had to be fulfilled in practice.

I do not want my experience to become someone else’s ceiling—or my age to become my own conclusion.

Now I can approach another stage of work as a person who gives direction, shares judgement and helps others continue. I am building my e-teams around that possibility and the experience I already have.

What I know can travel further than the languages I speak.#

Someone may already have the skill another person needs: a manufacturing method, a product, a craft, an explanation or the judgement to avoid a costly mistake. Yet the two may never work together because the value is not understood across language, culture or distance.

At HSIMC, the first audio step is already tangible: 30 stored greeting recordings have been produced, reviewed by me for an initial release and published for people to play.

Our next step is not simply to make a visitor feel welcome. It is to help a contributor express what they can offer to someone they could not previously reach.

Hear what I can offer—in another language.

That could mean an engineer explaining a capability to an overseas customer, a maker presenting the work behind a piece, or a learner opening a conversation with a new research community.

The six-language “Now I can” contribution recordings are a separate set of assets from the 30 greetings. A shared demonstration remains a demonstration; a person’s own approved content can become their own reusable expression asset.

A language version cannot replace technical accuracy, cultural judgement or agreement. It can make the next conversation possible—and give the people involved something clearer to work with.

I do not need to become fluent in every language for my approved knowledge to have a useful expression in another one. I still need its meaning checked.

That is the change I want my e-teams to support: not just bringing the world’s information to me, but helping the world understand what I can contribute.

An open door asks for a useful result.#

Long-standing relationships allow me to participate, under individual arrangements, at six Hong Kong touchpoints: Kwun Tong 6K; the Wuxi Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Center in Wan Chai; HK Tech 300 in Admiralty; PolyU InnoHub; the Healthcare Devices Innovation Hub at Hong Kong Science Park; and a phone shop in Mirador Mansion, Tsim Sha Tsui.⁶

These are different places, with different people and purposes. They are not a collection of assets that automatically belongs to HSIMC.

Some partners have opened space, equipment or other resources to me without asking for an upfront fee. Someone has already invested in those resources and in the relationships behind them.

Being spared a rental bill does not spare me the responsibility to make something useful happen.

Combined with the hardware and engineering relationships I know in Shenzhen, these opportunities can help turn a distant request into an agreed piece of local work.

I want a meeting to reveal a real need, a sample to reach a useful trial and an underused resource to support a task someone values enough to pay for. Contributors should receive an agreed return.

That is how I want to contribute as a Hong Kong super value-adder: connect international needs with real capability, then earn our place through delivery.

Craft is knowledge that deserves another order.#

Our authorised commercial collaboration with Bhat Brothers begins with Pashmina Kani shawls. These works carry technical intelligence across generations: material selection, textile structure, pattern and the judgement of the weaver. Bhat Brothers describes small bobbins and coded weaving instructions known as Talim.⁵

At an exhibition, a buyer can stand in front of a remarkable piece without understanding what made it remarkable. A photograph and a price do not necessarily explain the difference.

Being seen is not the same as being understood. Admiration is not the same as the next order.

The contribution we aim to make is concrete: approved information, cross-language explanation, sample experience, buyer questions, commercial coordination and continuing service.

Makers need fair pay. Businesses need orders. Customers need to understand what they are buying. HSIMC needs income for the work it actually delivers.

Standardise cooperation, quality evidence and acceptance—not creativity or cultural expression.

Language helps value reach another person. Real capability, authority and delivery make the relationship worth continuing.

I have made products. I have also dealt with what was left behind.#

I entered Huaqiao University in Fujian in 1985. My work and life later took me through Guangzhou, Foshan and Shenzhen, and across Europe, the United States, Thailand and Hong Kong.

I helped establish manufacturing businesses through technical work and later ran a factory of about 30,000 square metres with around 200 people. I learnt how materials, production, people and customers have to fit together.

I have also moved, cleared spaces and dealt with things that no longer fitted their original use. In an old church in Newark, I spent almost two months helping with a comprehensive clear-out.

My long involvement with Pannex’s products, supply chains and international customers has kept me close to making and selling. Its NFC-enabled products offer another starting point: a physical object can remain connected to the information and service it needs after delivery.

Before a product’s first use ends, plan its next useful beginning.

This is After Make. It includes care, repair, adaptation, handover and reuse—and responsible recovery when keeping an object is no longer the right choice.

At Kwun Tong 6K, I have spent months dismantling, combining, testing and adapting materials and equipment. A reclaimed board can support a device. A workbench can take on another task. A method can become usable by another person.

Instant Manufacturing means bringing the necessary conditions together where the need arises: reuse what fits, connect what is available, and make or adapt what is missing.

Not every object needs a computer. Every design should consider what comes next.

Life changes. Contribution should still have a way forward.#

I have watched a son and a daughter grow from infancy into their own lives. My daughter is studying at Hong Kong Baptist University. My son works in customer success and technical services within Adobe’s partner network.

I have experienced my mother’s death and the difficulties of arranging care for my father in later life. Needs, abilities, time and responsibilities change.

My children do not have to repeat my life. My own future does not have to stop where their adulthood begins.

I know people who speak and understand a language but are less comfortable reading or writing it. Others need a different way to see, hear, use a tool or participate from a distance.

The right question is not whether everyone can fit one interface. It is what a person wants to understand, contribute or accomplish, and what support would make that possible.

A prepared audio file is a modest example. Once downloaded or supplied on a suitable device, it can be played without generating it again. It is a reusable output—not a claim that an entire e-teams system is running offline.

Human assistance, accessible operation and a way to get the file onto the device still matter.

No one left behind in the age of AI means more ways to participate—not a demand that everyone contribute in the same way.

Begin where a real need meets what I can offer.#

You may have a product that overseas customers struggle to understand, a process whose most useful knowledge is still in someone’s head, a sample that needs handling in Hong Kong, or a skill that could serve a new market.

You do not need to own every tool or speak every language before the next step can begin.

One practical starting point is an enterprise work entry: organise confirmed information and selected services so people and compatible AI applications can use them under appropriate permissions.

Another is an expression asset: turn approved content into a language version and a sound file that can be shared, kept, revised and connected to a product or piece of work.

NFC or QR can link a useful object to the right content and continuing service. The physical item and its record must correspond; the next action needs someone responsible for it.

What I can offer may be what someone else needs. What I need may become useful work for someone else.

Define the intended result, check the conditions, agree the scope and cost, perform the work, verify it and retain what the next person needs. Partners remain independent. Income should follow actual contribution.

An accepted piece of work should leave more than a finished task: it should leave something that makes the next delivery easier.

A role preparing a translation is not the same as a customer understanding a product. A generated file is not the same as a completed service. The value comes from connecting the steps to a result someone actually needs.

Build capabilities people can use. Deliver work they can accept. Earn from the value actually contributed.

You can lead what comes next.#

I am not asking you to adopt my career, repeat my life or accept a prediction about the entire AI economy.

I invite you to give your e-teams a useful purpose, connect the capabilities that purpose needs and build from results that can be accepted.

Bring a skill, a product, a method, a place or a need that matters to you. Ask what someone else should be able to understand, use or achieve with it.

Then define the first role. Provide the information it may use. Connect the appropriate tools and people. Agree what a useful result will look like. Keep the record so the next task does not have to start from nothing.

You remain the person who chooses the direction. Your team gives that direction more ways to become useful work.

I do not ask you to believe because of my age or the number of identities in a system. Look at what is delivered, whether someone else can carry it forward and why a customer would choose to pay again.

My experience stays mine. My capabilities can grow. Yours can too.

I am still me. Now I can lead new ways to contribute.
