# MCP for Real Work — A Non-Code Guide

## One sentence

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that gives AI applications a common way to discover and use data, tools, and reusable prompts exposed by connected systems.

It does **not** by itself guarantee that a task is authorized, locally possible, supervised by the right human, evidenced, accepted, or economically complete.

## Why this matters to people who are not programmers

The Web allowed a trading company, manufacturer, designer, consultant, or small business to find global customers and suppliers without understanding HTTP. GenAI is now turning ordinary work into mixed AI + digital + physical work. The next question is no longer only “Can AI answer?” but “Can AI safely use the systems and capabilities needed to move this work forward?”

MCP standardizes part of that connection problem.

## Core MCP words in human language

- **Host** — the AI application or working environment a person is using.
- **Client** — the connector inside the host that speaks MCP to a server.
- **Server** — a system that exposes selected capabilities through MCP.
- **Tool** — an action the connected system says it can perform.
- **Resource** — information or context the system makes readable.
- **Prompt** — a reusable interaction/template exposed through MCP.
- **Transport** — how MCP messages travel; common examples are local stdio and remote Streamable HTTP.
- **Discovery** — learning what the server exposes.
- **Authorization** — deciding whether this user/work is actually allowed to do something. Discovery is not authorization.

## What HSIMC adds around MCP

HSIMC treats MCP as a connection standard, not the full definition of work.

A Reality outcome can also require:

- an Addressable Task Role;
- an e-Person working identity;
- a Human Supervisor;
- local tools, power, materials, place, network and capacity;
- scoped Authority;
- Shared Task Continuity;
- evidence and acceptance;
- contribution and economic outcome records.

**Reality Outcome** is HSIMC terminology, not an MCP standard term.

## The productivity shift

Before GenAI, a person often searched the web, emailed a supplier, copied data between systems, called an engineer, opened CAD/ERP/CRM separately, and manually coordinated the result.

With MCP-connected AI, some of those systems can expose capabilities in a common way. AI can discover them and—where authorized—use them as part of the work.

HSIMC focuses on the next layer: making sure the combined capability can become locally usable, supervised, evidence-backed Reality.

## HSIMC position

HSIMC does not define itself as merely a software technology company or a marketplace. It builds Human Reality Infrastructure.

The goal is not “Bots replace people.” The goal is to give people and AI unprecedented new combined capabilities—so work can cross models, organizations, tools, local places and physical production without losing Authority, supervision, evidence or continuity.
