# Why Now — A Founder’s Invitation · GenAI Physical

## Experience is our foundation—not our ceiling.

**On 28 July 2026, MCP’s move to a stateless protocol core gave me a new reason to act.** I saw the potential for a common connection layer for GenAI-native work—building on the web’s HTTP/HTTPS foundations to connect AI applications with independently provided tools and services.

But connection is only a beginning. Real work still needs **human authority, local capability and accountable delivery**.

**Seeing is not understanding. Making a product should not be the end of creating value.**

From national standards work in 1997 to the AI+HK showcase in 2026, my experience has centred on bringing materials, manufacturing processes and human understanding together. Our research asks how these strengths can support repeatable, authorised and economically sustainable work—not just individual demonstrations.

**Being seen brings responsibility. New possibilities call for action.**

We do not need to replace leading models, clouds or devices. We aim to make suitable technologies useful across independent partners, with clear permissions, local expertise and verified results. Their progress can expand our possibilities; our value must be earned in delivery.

We begin with **InnoSpire** in Hong Kong and an authorised commercial collaboration with **Bhat Brothers** in Kashmiri Pashmina Kani shawls. Specific beginnings; a purpose across people, products and industries.

### From seeing to understanding

Some people face barriers to sight. Others can see, yet struggle to understand across unfamiliar industries, languages and cultures.

**The barriers differ. The right to understand and participate does not.**

Building on **InnoSpire’s smart-glasses research for visually impaired people, supported by Hong Kong’s Smart Traffic Fund**, we are exploring hands-free AI for wider understanding.

InnoSpire’s development includes **HK Tech 300 Angel Fund support from City University of Hong Kong** and **Hong Kong Science Park incubation**. Our working links also extend to **PolyU InnoHub**.

An overseas exhibition visitor should be able to move from viewing a sample to understanding supplier capabilities, checking evidence and beginning useful collaboration. The same ambition applies to learning a craft, using a tool or entering unfamiliar work.

### From exceptional craft to better everyday living

Our collaboration with **Bhat Brothers** focuses on **Pashmina Kani shawls**: handwoven cashmere textiles whose coloured yarns form the pattern during weaving. Beyond the luxury label lies an engineering question:

**How can materials, structure and process deliver comfort, expression and lasting quality—with less weight and fewer unnecessary additions?**

With artisans’ permission and participation, technology should help skills be learned, developed and passed on—not preserve exhaustion. Affordability should come from reducing waste and rework—not compromising durability or fair pay.

**Standardise cooperation, quality evidence and acceptance—not creativity or cultural expression.**

Bring engineering wisdom into everyday products, without turning every craft into a commodity.

### After Make — planned before we make

Our experience with **Pannex’s recycled-material products, GRS requirements and NFC-enabled gifts** gives After Make a practical starting point: connect physical objects to continuing digital services—including AI where useful—and plan their next useful purpose.

**Before a product’s first use ends, plan its next useful beginning.**

For products, packaging and materials, that means care, repair, reuse, adaptation and, when necessary, responsible recovery. The connection may use NFC, RFID, printed codes or local edge computing—or simply packaging designed for another purpose.

**Not every object needs a computer. Every design should consider what comes next.**

Beyond recycled content, we seek to prevent avoidable waste—with responsible partners, viable costs and verifiable outcomes.

### Shared rules. Lasting value.

HSIMC aims to develop and test shared capability contracts for GenAI Physical: what can be done, under which conditions, who may authorise it, who delivers it and how the result is accepted.

**Our infrastructure ambition is to make each accepted Work contribute reusable methods, capability descriptions and evidence that independent partners can use again.**

InstantReady and Instant Manufacturing help turn understanding into useful work; After Make extends responsibility beyond delivery.

Orders, continuing services and responsible investment sustain this mission. Partners remain independent. Returns should reach those who contribute.

**We do not need to prove that machines can never replace a task. We need progress to expand human capability, choice, bargaining power and sustainable reward.**

Reduce unnecessary waiting, repetition and communication barriers. Help experience travel further. Give people more time for work they choose and value.

**Past success is a foundation, not a ceiling. Past failure is experience, not a verdict.**

Bring a need, a capability, a product awaiting its next purpose—or resources to support one clearly scoped Work.

**Let’s make the world easier to understand, and useful things worth keeping.**

**Bring a real need. Let’s create the next reality.**
